Many of you already know that our building, 475 Kent avenue, was vacated by FDNY on January 20, 2008 due to fire code violations. We had been tenants there since 1998 and run S11 Press- Prints Of Darkness from our studio on the 10th floor. There is still a lot of confusion regarding whether we will be able to stay as commercial tenants, or will have to move out all together. Right now we are sitting tight until we get more information about the situation. Thanks everyone for all your supportive calls and emails, they really mean a lot. In particular, we want to thank the institutions and clients who have written to the mayor and other agencies in support of our business.
Currently, we are working to attain building access so we can honor existing contracts. New contracts are on hold until the situation is resolved.
We'll let you know more as we do. In the meantime, if you know of potential new homes for us or the presses, legal options we might pursue, or want to distract us by commiserating over a beer, please let us know. We really appreciate any/all help right now.
